Scouting Trip

I wanted to check a few possible spots for Sunday's excursion, maybe see how the pink worm would work on stockers. It worked well, and I think the three of us (Dalton, Adam, and I) may put up some numbers! I got five today in a very short time. One brown, three brookies, and a bow. The brown was fat and actually fairly colorful.

That brown looks like some kind of hybrid, almost a tiger. But I'm not sure

    1. It does have that pattern, but every stocked tiger I have caught was very blatantly a Tiger, and seeing as the fish in hatcheries are "hand bread" I don't think it is.

  2. Nice size and color. The pink worm strikes again. What a winner. Thanks for the great photos.

  3. "Scouting trip" is usually code for, didn't catch anything. But not in this case. Looks like a fun day of catching.

    1. Ha ha I never go fishing intending not to put the full effort into catching something.

I wish we had some brown and brook trout in out tailrace, only rainbow; I guess I should consider us lucky to even have trout fishing Alabama. Those are some nice trout--thanks for sharing

    1. Thank you,
I would think that browns would last longer in your warm climate. You are very lucky though.
