Two Days of Wind and No Carp

Wednesday: Windy, good water clarity, moderately difficult casting. Four fish seen, one good shot ignored.

Thursday: So windy I blew off my rock a couple times. Casting : impossible. Fish seen: none.

  1. I'm sure you will have better luck when the wind dies down. It must be difficult to spot them when the water is full of ripples due to the wind. I might be getting out tomorrow on a stream, so have dries worked yet for you or has it been all streamers and wets?

    1. It is at times useless to even be there.
The only flies I have caught on this month have been the pink worm and bead head soft hackles. the worm worked far better.

  2. You got the wind we had yesterday and it was blowing me sideways. Not much happening when it's like that. When you can't stand on your rock, it's bad.

    1. Especially when the water is still so cold!

  3. That's tough. I think I curse the wind more than anything else. It's either not blowing or it's gale force.

    1. Sure seems like it. Tomorrow may not be bad, but it may rain quite a bit. Then again I've had some surprisingly good luck sight fishing in the rain.
