Though their lineages have existed for any thousands of year, they have not gone "un-evolved". And the deep south is far from the only place to target big gar, bowfin, and snakeheads. Many of the bowfin in this post are from CT, those that aren't were caught in NY or VT, and the longnose gar were caught in NY.
