Getting Back My Favorite Rod

Over a year ago some *mmm hmm* stepped on my little 6'6 three weight St. Croix Avid. I finale got around to sending it in and getting it replaced. St. Croix's repair and replacement service is exceptional. It too a bit longer than expected to get the rod back, but I'd blame that on the postal service. It is a very fine little rod with a great, delicate cast. I loved fishing with it before, and I can't wait for it to warm up next week so I can get out and catch some little wild trout on it.

  2. Glad to hear the repair service was good because too many companies don't stand behind their products! The short rod is essential for blue lining, and I have a 6ft TFO 2wt that I love. Look forward to seeing the wild jewels this rod will catch!

    1. Me too. Though, I won't go shorter than this. I like being able to high stick with wets and dap with dries, and a bit of a longer rod helps.

    2. True. There are positives and negatives to both, but 6'6" seems to be a nice compromise.

  3. They are great small stream rods. Mine is a Avid 6ft 3wt and I love it.
