One of my favorite species of fish to catch happens to be the child of the brookie and the brown: the tiger trout. They are stocked in small numbers, and wild examples are exceedingly rare, but they are incredibly beautiful and hard fighting trout. I caught my biggest so far on the salmon this March. That day was a fine one, with many trout coming to hand. All were caught on a black beadhead hare's ear.
