This is not a post about some spring or summer fishing that I can't wait for. I'm tired of that coming to mind so instead I went fishing again today. I targeted a pond that has some flow from a tail water stream and stays ice free. With carp, panfish, and pickerel it is a very fun water to fish. Today I tied on a Common Craw first with the distant hope that I could somehow hook one of very few fish blind casting. Of course I didn't, and that is alright. I didn't catch any rock bass or perch either: also O.K.
I'll just have to let the water warm up some more before they get active enough to take a swipe at my flies.
Wow you have some amazing angling opportunities so close to home! Look forward to seeing what you pull out of this pond in the spring and summer when water temps come up.
ReplyDeleteYou probably do too, you just may not be looking hard enough.

ReplyDeleteA good day to practice some casting techniques in a beautiful spot. Thanks for sharing
Than you,
DeleteI have to say roll casting on water works, on snow... kind of, on grass... meh. So it was really good practice.
Nothing wrong about just being out there. It's good for the soul and you never know what creatures will show up. I saw the turkeys today and the other wildlife are ready for warm temps.
ReplyDeleteTie, write and photo on...
It is. SO good. Much better than sitting on the couch.
DeleteAll the animals here are readying for spring. They are so active now.
