Looking for a Big Fallfish

Evidently I should have only fished one pool yesterday... five rivers and about that many hours of fishing, and that first pool was the only one that gave up a fallfish of any size!

Granted, that fish was a good one for this watershed, but I would have liked to have caught a bunch of them that size, or even better to have caught a bigger one. I did, however, hook and loose quite a large wild brook trout in a stream where I have never hooked one before. I'll have to revisit that spot and try to bring that fish to hand soon.

  1. It's so good to see streams without Japanese knot weed growing on the edges. That fall fish has great color.
Tie, fish, write and photo on...

    1. There actually was knot weed there. I had to bust through a field of it to get down to the stream.

  2. Looks like a beautiful area with some nice water flows (finally). Caught a few (smaller) fallfish the other day in a small stream.

    1. It is still much, much lower than it should be.

  3. Fallfish are like mini-salmon.
There are times when they make a day.

  4. I thought of you the other day when I caught a giant fallfish on the Naugatuck. It was much bigger than any I've ever caught before.
