Some Different Natural Beauty

Every now and then I post something related to my one of my other hobbies, mineralogy. Considering my inability to fish today I figured I might as well share some of the photographs I have been working on. The three here are the best out of a batch of more than 100.

Fluorite, Madoc, Ontario

Celestite, Nebraska

Wulfenite on Mimitite, Chihuahua, Mexico

  1. That's really cool. It's amazing to see the things our earth is made of, and that our earth's development have lead to. Beautiful... Just beautiful!

  2. I've always been fascinated by different minerals and gemstones (sorry if the terminology is off), but never knew you could actually find them around here. You have weaved this hobby into your angling hobby quite well, and I appreciate all of your gem pics as they are all stunning!

Beautiful formations from mother earth; how do you display them? Thanks for sharing

    1. Thank you. If I'm not admiring them they are carefully boxed, but here they are on glass and illuminated in a way that eliminates shadows and reflections. A sheet of black cardboard is about ten inches from the glass to give the spotlight effect.
