Some Outdoors-ing and Fly Tying

With this last of the truly cold weather I decided I had not put in enough outside time. I took a few days to go out and snow shoe and study the local wildlife's winter behaviors. On the first trip a pack of coyotes even followed my tracks unseen. When I turned back I found that they had not only found but stalked me for some ways. Cool! On the last day I went with a friend. We got out as far from civilization as can be done in CT, made a campfire next to a nice but very frozen wild trout stream, and just hung out. Today I produced a monstrosity of a dry fly. I call it the Demon Hopper. It ought to float really well, and during those hot but windy summer days I ought to take some really nice trout or smallmouth on it.

    1. Thank you,
Most coyotes are smart enough to know they can't take down an animal my size without getting injured or killed, they are mostly harmless to people.
