Winter's Death

This winter has been a butt kicker. The fishing opportunities for a fly rodder this month have been non existent. But tomorrow is the start of March, and I am sure this month plans to do away with winter. Within a week there ought to be less snow and more open water, and if we are lucky enough the snow will have disappeared from the ground the 20th. Good luck this season ladies and gentleman!

    1. We aren't. In fact the next substantial precipitation here is going to be rain.

  2. Hope your rain isn't as abundant as here today. Seven inches, mostly torrential, in seven hours. Pool ready to overflow, lots of streets flooded. Gold fish from people's ponds washed into flooded parking lots and streets ! And it's the dry season....

    1. 7 inches in Florida and 7 inches in CT are very different scenarios.

  3. The rain midweek should help get the meltdown going. The streams are going to be swolen! Where do brookies tend to hide out in the higher water?

    1. It sure will.
Brookies go wherever the water is slowest, usually withing a couple inches of the shore or right on the bottom.
