It Always Happens When I Don't Have the Camera

I went fishing at a stream only a half mile from home today, actually the same one I did yesterday. Today the ice and water temperature were dramaticly better, stoneflies were hatching, and I even saw one fish come up for a winter caddis. Perfect January brooky conditions... and I totally forgot the memory card and the camera was of no use. So of course, as it always goes, I stuck the Pinky on and it got slammed by a pair of wild brookies. One to hand, one to the feet, and I'm counting both... I'm now up to three fish in 2016. I used my phone to take a very bad photo of the one I was able to get control of:

  1. I lose more fish trying to get my camera ready. Some times I think it's better to fish without one.

    1. Sometimes, yes. But I'm sure you're glad you had it on your outing yesterday!

  2. It's OK, we forgive you. You had a good time fishing and that's all that counts. I always keep a spare card just in case. Love those little beauties.
Tie, fish, write and photo on...

  3. It was certainly a nice day today. Glad you had some success out there as the water warmed up a bit! I got out last week but froze and got ice in the guides and called it quits after about two hours. Looks like the streams are in a little better shape now, though.

    1. Thanks,
Yeah it's January... get your kicks while you can, it's going to cool down again in a few days.
