There are some materials that all fly tiers should have in their collection. One big one is foam. If you like fishing dry flies, you know it is nice to have a fly that stays afloat. There is nothing better to keep a fly afloat than foam. Hoppers, mayflies, stoneflies, cicadas, mice... all seem to be a bit better with foam. Since we got a ridiculous snowstorm earlier, I've spent the day tying and photographing foam flies.

  1. I like the art behind the flies! The flies are great to! The snow melt will help your streams and the fish. Your weekend should be great.
Tie, fish, write and photo on...

  2. I'm with Cliff. Foam flies are great and fun to experiment with. The artwork is pretty impressive also Rowan.

    1. Thank you,
fly tying is not the only art I dabble in...
