The Last of the Stockers for a While

I've fished for stocked trout too much this spring. Yesterday I made the decision to fish the Salmon one last time before calling it quits for a while on the stocker hunt. There are plenty of better fish for me to get out there and target, and frankly I am quite bored of targeting stocked trout. So yesterday I went for me last Salmon River TMA outing for the time being. I caught some fish, some on dries. I got rather PO'd by fish slamming the mouse all over the place and just never getting the hook.

If it's trout I'm after in the next month, it'll be wild ones or big river holdovers and wilds in NY and the Farmi and Hoosi.

  1. Yep, nothing like fishing without all the locals at times. Small streams + Natives = good fishing.
Tie, fish, write and photo on...

    1. More than that... I've been spending less time looking for sea run browns, bass, stripers.... I need to get my head back in the game.
