Happy Easter!

After spending much of the morning with family and friends, I finished off the day with a short streamer outing. I got some fish pissed off, watched fish chase, and strip set into a few small stockers. I have got a good feeling about this week though, and when I am not working on my biology lab report I will be on the water, either the ponds or the Salmon. Happy Easter everyone.

  1. I like the fact you catch trout on sizable flies. Conventional wisdom on many of our streams says go small or go home. I am glad to see that you prove that is not always the case.

    1. Conventional wisdom is often wrong in fishing... a very skilled guide friend of mine fishes a size 6 stimulator during olive hatches on the Farmington and out-fishes people using 26's.

    2. That stimulator will do it 9 out of 10 times.

    3. I would opt for the stimulator even if the odds were lover! There's nothing quite as beautiful as watching a big wild fish come up and drown a huge dry fly.

  2. You made them mad and glad when released. The streamers did the job today. Happy Easter to you and thanks for the trip!!!

    1. I could have done better with nymphs or dry flies but I would rather throw meat around and get aggressive strikes...
