The Ups and Downs of Fly Carpin'

The last week or so of carp fishing on the lake have been a mix of frustration and excitement. Such is the way it goes here. I am very much looking forward to fishing places like the flats of Superior and he Columbia River where it is possible to have days where more than a couple of carp are caught. Because that is what its like here. I have never caught 3 carp in one outing, which is in part based on the fact that I am still not completely proficient at it. I rarely get skunked because there species other than carp about. So, for the last two trips I've had to put up with white perch and bluegills when I should be watching the line melt away as a big carp had its way.
What keeps me coming back is that, on occasion, that is what happens, as with the 9lb beauty I caught last week.

    1. Thanks,
Good condition, some fish are beat up and missing scales, this one was close to immaculate.
