Waterfalls, Brook Trout, and Salmon

On our last night in Maine my brother decided we should go check out some waterfalls in the area, so we hopped in the car and drove out under a cloudy sky. We stopped in the town of Rangeley to look out over the lake and were treated to quite a sight.

Then it was on to the falls, which were equally stunning and photogenic.

Of course a stream like this must have some salmonids in it, so I fished quickly to cover water in the short time we had. Right at the end I discovered that a Hornberg stripped downstream quickly would catch fish, and it paid of with some brookies and landlocked salmon parr. They were pretty fish, but the stream itself definitely took the cake. It was just unbelievable.

    1. Thanks,
It is unfortunately quite busy on a nice day, so the fishing is not what it should be.

    1. We fished so many different kind of water, and there are so many places there that are just FULL of brookies. This place was not one of them, but there were a few here and there.
