It Was Tough
Some days fish just don't seem to be in the mood to eat. Today was one of those days. It had snowed and rained, the water level came up, and it was foggy and cloudy. Two months ago I was catching tons under similar conditions. But today, no matter what I tried, I couldn't find the right fly, the right water, I just couldn't find the fish. That isn't to say the first skunk of the year bit, I caught two very pretty wild trout. It just wasn't easy fishing.

Glad to see you were able to persevere through the tough conditions and avoid getting skunked! That last wild brown had some size to him. What part of Connecticut do you fish? Eastern?
ReplyDeleteThan you. I do most of my trout fishing in Central and Eastern CT. Occasionally I get to go up to the Farmington, but I usually stay close to home.
DeleteYou did good with those little beauties. The best action was the wonderful natural beauty around you. Great pics. Thanks for the walk.
ReplyDeleteFish on...
Great pics! As was already stated above , the fish are only a small piece of the puzzle that makes a trip great , and you obviously spent some quality time on a beautiful little piece of water.
ReplyDeleteThan you. This is my favorite stream, and I have never found any of it ugly.
DeleteWay to hang in there on a tough day. Looks like the scenery made up for any lack of fish numbers!
ReplyDeleteIt definitely did! I love the fog.
DeleteBeautiful trout and water.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is.
