I got in a short session last night. I threw some big flies around in a local pond for bass, pickerel, or walleye. There was one very cool moment, and that is the only thing I'll describe here.
I was using the dear hair headed pattern I designed called the Rainbow Lady, and on one cast I decided to strip it in quickly. When It got close to the shore a big dark form materialized behind it. I gave one short strip. The shape, which had come into focus now as a nice largemouth, finned forward a bit and opened and closed it's mouth. I let the fly sink. As it went down, the materials moved ever so delicately That did the trick. With one quick Move the fish was on and eventually at hand.
