This afternoon was hot, bright, and a bit windy. In such conditions it is best to go bass fishing. I did so in the area I normally sight cast to carp. Today I ignored them, tying on a six inch long streamer. On the first actual cast there was an enormous boil. Not being ready I botched the hook set and missed catching a very large pickerel. I then proceeded to catch one small largemouth before things went dead and I moved to the other side of the pond. It was there that I hooked into and landing another that I recognized. His scars made him easily recognizable. I had caught him in March on a popper.
