Brown Trout Spawn

I went to my home river today to see what the status of the Brow Trout spawning run is. It turns out they were far to engrossed to pay attention to my flies. Of course it is great to just get out and watch the goings on. Right now all the biggest trout in the river are in some of the shallowest water. I saw plenty of fish over 12 inches today, including one around 16 inches and another around 18.

  1. Yep, they are busy doing what nature intended. I'm sure they will want to feed at some point. That stream is a beauty. Wish I could pull a camper to it and spend time.
    Fish on...

  2. I wondered all day at my desk today if the spawning fish would be active for flies with the warm weather or active for other things :)

Guess I got my answer. Tight lines.
