Today I went down for the first time this year to a small millpond that typically is loaded with crappies, bass, and perch. I also got a carp out of it. However, after having the level lowered dramatically during the fall, I wasn't sure there would even be fish in it this year. The fly of choice was a white leech. I only caught an itty bitty crappie, and helping a single perch get free from a minnow trap, I decide that this pond had all but died. Hopefully it will be revived. I went to another bigger water hole for bass but the wouldn't eat. Another little millpond gave me a couple little green sunfish and a bigger bluegill.
