NATIVES! I Missed Those Char...

I finally found a new Brook Trout water to fish, and I suspect it has a run or two of anadromous browns every year. I saw a fair sized one under the waterfall. It needs to be stated that this stream has never been stocked.

I fished bellow the waterfall and was very happy with the one brooky I caught on a Royal Coachman. Before releasing him I said, "Its been a while my little speckled friend, thanks for cooperating". I climbed back up to the bridge, and an older gentleman who was driving past rolled down his window and said " there are big ones further up". So that is where I went. He may have been right, there certainly were more fish. I doubt whether they had ever seen a fly. A little red wet fly was taken aggressively, and the fish didn't spook easily. I caught several in each hole.

I hate to be away from these colors so long!

    1. A little piece is, far upstream. That piece was town owned. It is never fished any way.
