Beating The Heat

Today it was so hot school got dismissed early. But I don't take orders from the weather, so I was going fishing. I took my mountain bike and ripped up some trail, smashing through the hot humid air like some sort of maniac. I wanted to destroy that heat. I wanted to beat it to a pulp. I ended up sweating by the gallon and followed by a swarm of mosquitoes. But I filled in some gaps on my personal map and caught some gorgeous wild brook trout out of a stream that barely exists.

  1. YES, we all need water. Those small streams and fish are just barley holding on. We may get some later today. Nice little brookies.
Tie, fish, write and photo on...

They seem to manage. It's really amazing.

  2. Love that..."a stream that barely exists." This couldn't be more true, but somehow you pulled some wild jewels out of it. My favorite brook trout stream was unbelievably low this past Sunday. This rain should help, though. I am jealous you got let out early for the heat. Our school just forces us to sit there and roast.

This drought has been stupid. I wish it would just end... it's going to take A LOT of rain to make up for this garbage.
