Foam

There are some materials that all fly tiers should have in their collection. One big one is foam. If you like fishing dry flies, you know it is nice to have a fly that stays afloat. There is nothing better to keep a fly afloat than foam. Hoppers, mayflies, stoneflies, cicadas, mice... all seem to be a bit better with foam. Since we got a ridiculous snowstorm earlier, I've spent the day tying and photographing foam flies.
