Herring on Vacation
This weekend two from our group spotted alewives in our stream. Not very many, but herring non the less. Then snow came and messed everything up, so when Ehren and I went today it was really not surprising that we didn't see any. There were, however two huge suckers bellow the bridge and a muskrat in a different stream.
When I got home I rigged up and went carpin'. The conditions were just garbage. The lighting and wind made an awful combination, the water was cooler and the fish were less active, which didn't really matter because I would not have seen them even if they were. Even mud-patches and bubble trails wouldn't have been enough. I caught two redbreast sunfish and called it a day.

That stream looks great. We do need some warmer weather for many reasons!! The wind has been a pest also.

The warmer weather is still coming early, it just doesn't feel like it because of the non-winter we had.
