Night Fisherman

They say the biggest fish feed nocturnally. Giant brown trout. Hawg largemouth. Cow stripers. Many fisherman night fish because of the notion that it is the time of big fish. And, sometimes, it is.

But there comes a time when most realize that night fishing is about getting lost and fading into the scene.

Maybe I night fish because I sometimes wish nobody could see me.

There's nothing wrong with being a ghost.

  1. I also think part of it is that your other senses are heightened as well. That branch breaking in the woods, or that bump of a rock on the bottom of the yak, sounds and feels much different when you can't look over and see that squirrel or know it's said rock.

  2. Well said. Night fishing for me is going out the next day to replace all the gear I lost or left behind.
Tie, fish, write, conserve and photo on...

  3. The only serious bass or other sw fish I've hooked up these past 3 years since I started actually fishing salt, were at night. 2 of them.Lost both. One jumped off bridge.

Night bass is amazing fun. And no sunburn
