The Year's Goals
Last year was pretty awesome as far as reaching goals, most notably are my first sea run brown, my first walleye on a fly, and my a big channel cat on the fly. Also notable but expected was a 20 inch wild brown on a big streamer. I'm, very proud of those successes, but...
I did not get all of my goals completed. This year the big one is striped bass. I'm looking for a good sized one on a fly, frankly I find the fact that I have not yet caught a striper of even schoolie size on a fly to be a very large hole in my reputation. I mean I live in CT, one of the best places in the world for striped bass. But I also failed to land a koi, and in a dramatic and painful way (A Koi Lost ). Those are two of my goals, a nice striper and a koi. Also in the 2016 goal list: Another sea run, northern pike, a 26+ brown, and a PB Brooky preferably in CT

Well done, RM! That brown is a trophy as is the catfish. I didn't know catfish would hit a fly. Regards, Sam
ReplyDeleteThanks,
DeleteThey aren't common but if you get a fly close to one they almost always eat it.
Great photos of a great year! Your goals are very doable. Looking forward to your catches in 2016. Your adventures are awesome!

Thganks,
DeleteA few shouldn't be hard, but sea run browns and koi are next to impossible to find. Many streams with sea run browns only have a minuscule run, and finding them isn't easy.
