Their are some fish that have eluded me. One of them has been striped bass. I have yet to catch even a schoolie sized striper on a fly. Part of this is due to my inability to get to some of the better locations on short notice, and part of it is because, well, I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to surf fishing.
Today I shall do battle once more in the coves and harbors of the tidal Connecticut River in hopes that a big striper will inhale one of my Gartside streamers. It's all holdover fish by now, and they are few and far between, but if I didn't try what kind of fisherman would I be?
You are the best kind of fisherman! You have an understanding of what fish might be taking and just keep that fly in the water. Enjoy the warm weather fishing this week.

The best kind of fisherman is the fisherman that just doesn't give in.
